Mmm, vacation

Spent the last week or so back in England, seeing the sites, catching up with people and enjoying a bit of rest. It's so nice to go out side and be able to see the sky (without looking straight up); for the only goal to be to see as many people as possible; to sit on the shore and only hear the sea. I always thought home was a little too "peaceful" (the nearest club is nearly an hour away), but I have to admit it's good to come home every once in a while. Living in New York definitely makes you value peace that little bit more.

Still, it's off to see my Dad and watch the England game tomorrow, then back to New York on Sunday. Plus we get Monday and Tuesday off! Yay freedom!

Wanna know where home is for me? Check out this and this.

Thanks a fucking bunch, Auntie

From the BBC's updating world cup results blog thing:

85 mins: GOAL Sweden 1-2 England
Fans across the nation heave a sigh of relief as Steven Gerrard nets his second goal of the tournament.

Me: Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh...

86 mins: Steven Gerrard's goal appears to have made England's place at the top of Group B secure.

Me: ...Yeeeeeeeaaaaahhh!

89 mins: The win is still not secure.

Me: What the fuck?

90 mins: GOAL Sweden 2-2 England
England are destined to never beat Sweden ever again.

Me: *Sulk*

Who am I?

A question from Jen, regarding the World Cup:

"So are you American or British at the moment?"

Now, I wish the US team all the best (they need it); and if they were here, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland would also have my support. But right now, I'm neither. I'm officially Chris the Englishman until July 7th...

Kickball

Had my first game with my kickball team this past Wednesday and was definitely happy I signed up. Who knew so much fun could be had with kicking a red rubber ball around a makeshift softball pitch? The fact that we won 18-6 didn't hurt either. Finally, the toe-punting skills I developed in all those school break times have come in handy.

"Summer's here" my ass. When we stop having nightly thunderstorms, then it'll be summer.
