Like, totally

And I really need to stop saying "totally". That's two posts in a row.

If I feel the urge in future, I'll do my best to replace it with "for reals" at the end of the sentence.

Arse

Spent all last evening filling out my tax return, only to look at my W2 today and see my years wages ends in 08 cents, not 80 as previously thought. I'm totally killing this fucker off tonight.

*Snooze*

Laaaazy day, although I did go climbing briefly. I found an open wall in this random plaza a couple of weeks ago, where anyone can walk up and have a climb, so today I did. Just once up, but it was fun. Will definitely go again and see if I can get all the way to the top.

I totally need to do my taxes tomorrow. Hopefully it will have stopped raining by then. Jen, Jill and Paul got out just in time, by the looks of it.

On the Mend

So it was quite the weekend. Things got started on Thursday at the Zogsports end-of-season party (Zogsports organizes the sports leagues that Jen, Jill, Sarah, myself and several other AIESEC types play in here in New York). How our Volleyball team Bump 'n' Grind didn't win Best Spirit is beyond me (we had our own dance), but at least we got the Best Attendance award. We ended up down in SoHo debating on whether it's easier to, one handed, remove pants or a bra. The result: everyone wins.

My flight to IU was at 6:40 the next morning out of Newark, which seeing as how I got back to mine at around 2:30am meant not going to sleep. Managed to get out to the airport via the subway and Penn station without falling asleep, then passed out on the plane for an hour or so. Got a lift down to campus with a friend, did some shopping, napped for another hour and got ready to go out. I always forget how awesome college bars are - I was able to buy a round for the whole group that went out - a good 7-8 people - for $13 including tip. That's like 2 drinks here in Manhattan. The night continued with more drinks, dancing, delivery pizza at 3:30 in the morning and some Wondershowzen - I'm kinda suprised I didn't have nightmares after that one, especially after mixing it with lack of sleep, alcohol and late-night cheesy bread.

The Saturday was pretty much the same - bit of shopping, dinner with everyone, went to a bar and played some pool, then barhopped through Bloomington. Played some Sink the Biz, headed home, passed out.

Managed to squeeze in brunch and lunch with friends before heading back to Indy, feeling pretty down about leaving again. My friends from my time at IU are starting to graduate and move on, so it might take a lot more coordination to get everyone in the same place at the same time. I've always loved Bloomington ever since I first moved there nearly 3 years ago, and now a lot of the people that made it so special will no longer be there. But, when you get right down to it, that's the way of life - the same thing happened when I left home for university, when I left Manchester for New York, and will more than likely happen again in the future. Photos, memories and the hope of continued friendships, no matter where we all end up, will get us by.

Feeling a bit better after some rest this week (although I've been completely crap at getting up and going to the gym over the last couple of days). RoKS are over (although you should go to STONES if you get the chance!), the semester is winding down - and it's snowing outside. Random.
