Above and beyond the fact that carrying your phone, whether it be a blackberry or not, into the bathroom should be a crime punishable by lashings, I'd say talking on the phone is worse.
No one wants to hear you flush the toilet...seriously, people.
Luli, they put phones in the bathroom in case there is an emergency and you need to call 911. Maybe someone will get stuck on the toilet seat or fall out of the shower.
i will add to this. I have a few perspectives. I get bored while pooping. I therefore have been known to make phone calls, usually finishing the call by telling my caller that I am in fact taking a poop. I also have "friends" who have dropped their phone in the toilet. This "may happen" when reading text messages and an incoming call vibrates the phone out of your hand and into the toilette. In conclusion, i think phoning on the john is completely allowed and encouraged, but should be done with caution.

HEY! a toilet is a place where no one can disturb you, your own personal time. so if you want to take a call, or check a mail it's fine!
Luli. Isn't someone calling you while you're on the can the definition of a disturbance?
By carrying a cell phone, you are choosing to be disturbed 24/7.
Oh, and the other reason to not carry your phone into the bathroom is that you don't drop it in the toilet. I have talked to people who did this.
i actually did that once :P
but hey, i got a new phone coz of that....
i agree with kent... toilet flushing while on a call is the worst and most disgusting thing you can do in a restroom. bad! don't do it!
If you're emailing someone, is it bad form to add *Flush* to your signiture?
ok, so why do hotels put a phone right next to the toilet then?
Surely there's a reason!
You need entertainment while you're sittin' there
Haha...bad form, indeed, Chris.

riiight! i'm not buying!
So you're tellin me you NEVER placed or answered a single call while in the bathroom?
I've never placed a call in the bathroom, but I have had to go while already on the phone.
Maybe a couple of times at most, but I try not to if possible. Sometimes necessity calls, though.
