7 Days
7 days ago, I was crushed. I was sitting in a room full of people drinking, dancing, having a a good time, wishing that the ground would open up and take me to a quiet little cave somewhere I could be alone for a while. I couldn't understand why, or how, or anything; just that life, at that particular point and junction, sucked.
It's exactly one week later. I still can't understand a lot of what has happened in the last 7 days, and maybe I won't for a while. All I know is that sometimes things happen for no (good) reason, and that's the way of the world; that when you need them, the people closest to you will always, always be there for you; and that sometimes all you can do as you travel down life's highway is stick your thumb out and see what passes your way.
I got a job offer yesterday; 6 months in Cairo, continuing my education about the Middle East and the breadth of experiences therein. You may have heard of the company.

What have you been doing so far? Just hanging out? :-P Sounds great. Congratulations Chris. I wish you the best! I really hope to visit Egypt some day, but probably not until a little later in life.
As always ... Faction forever.
That's awesome! Congratulations. Hope you'll have a lot of fun in Cairo!
Dreams are meant to be lived.
Well I'll just be a few countries over so visits will have to be arranged!
Ditto on the "FACTION!" :) I know it's cliche, but honestly, things always turn out for the best, don't they? I'd like to believe that I'm living proof!
